When Mariette Snyman offered to interview me I was so excited. What a wonderful opportunity to reach out and walk you through the whole journey, although it's far from over.

Thank you cancer for showing me who I am. 

I applaud my body for serving me so well through beatings, car accidents, fear and stress. I thank my body for holding it together while I drank and smoked for 30 years. Small and larger clues were ignored - the hangovers, the migraines, lung infections and even the shame. 

All of this is me, this is who I am.

Hopefully this can help some. People are very fearful and actually there is nothing to fear but fear itself.... (some quote from a famous guy) but it's true. The grace is available when you get there.

Look into my Eyes

Look into my eyes
and you will see my soul.
Do I lower my lids in shame?
or hide a guilty lie?
My eyes will reveal a cowardly win,
or jealousy when it's there.

Smiling eyes that shine will transfer warmth.
In soft eyes there is mercy.
Do I "see" you?
You will know this in your heart.
Do I look, calmly lingering and long,
a deep dive that lifts you up, raising your arms fulfilled.

Are my eyes hard,
or do they make you cold?
Do my eyes want to dominate you,
or try to take control?
If my eyes avoid you,
a chest pain may take hold.

Look into my eyes.
Let me pour in my love,
until it fills your heart,
Look deeply into my eyes
till there's nothing left to hide.
Look into my eyes until
you see my soul.

TRUTHWALK

The truth hurts.
It hurts more, the longer it's been hidden.
It lies there on the side,
waiting for me to turn my eyes.
Patiently it waits.
There is no hurry.
Like dough, it rises
when the time is right.

It hurts and then it feeds me,
and there is no going back.
I will be the better for it.
It moves me forward one more step,
and so I grow.
One truth at a time,
towards the light.
